About Our Ingredients

Ingredients are carefully selected from our vendors.  Shea Butter, Kokum Butter, Cocoa Butter and Mango Butter are the 4 main bases used in our products.  

Shea butter

Shea butter sometimes known as karite comes from the nut of the Shea tree, which is native to West Africa. It has been used for thousands of years for cosmetic and skin care purposes. It is the source of income for many West Africans who harvest the nut for many purposes.

Benefits: Moisturizes dry skin, reduces skin inflammation, restores elasticity, reduces stretch marks.

Kokum butter

Derived from the seeds of a fruit-breeding tree called the kokum or mangosteen, which is found in the tropical regions of India. It is a great butter for medicinal and cosmetic uses.

Benefits: Restores moisture to dry skin, soothes inflamed skin, may reduce visible signs of aging, non-Comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), softens and restores skin elasticity

Cocoa butter

Cocoa butter comes from cocoa beans that are harvested from the cocoa plant. It has a mild scent of chocolate and has been used to manufacture chocolate, pharmaceuticals and an array of different products. It is high in fatty acids that hydrates and nourishes the skin to improve its elasticity.

Benefits: Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids that hydrates and nourishes the skin to improve its elasticity.  Improves blood flow to the skin, slows skin aging by protecting from UV rays.

Mango butter

Brightly colored and high in nutrients; mangoes are found in tropical islands. Inside every mango no matter the size, shape, color, smell or taste is a woody kernel filled with nutrient dense fat. The fatty oils are then pressed and purified to make mango butter. Mango butter contains a great amount of Vitamin A and C. Vitamin A helps to reduce fine lines and increase skins appearance. Vitamin C, which is within the mango butter, helps boost the skin and brighten it.

Benefits: Treats dry skin, soothes sunburns, treats eczema and psoriasis, can improve stretch marks and scars, aids with acne
